MAY 29, 2009

Summer is here and the tulips are blooming in my court yard. I went out this morning and painted in the rain. Despite the dampness, it was still a beautiful morning

June 3, 2009This is an older painting, sorry I have been so preoccupied with my tree house building that I have not had enough time in the day to get it all done… However I am headed out to Wrangell St. Elias National Park tomorrow morning for a five day trip to hang the treehouse in the tree! I will bring back a few paintings and will upload them all at once for your enjoyment! After I return be prepared for extreme awesomeness, as I plan on finishing up the beer series and creating a sweet beer page for them. It should make for a least a few minutes of distraction from your regular work.. well check on me on Tuesday for pics of newest paintings and the treehouse as well!coffe-painting.jpg

June 9 2009 Backlog

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

June 9, 2009I made it home from My property in McCarthy which is located in the heart of the Wrangell St. Elias National Park, I unfortunately was not able to hang my tree house as I had hoped. It was a bummer. I am currently trying to decide whether I should continue with the tree house idea or simply leave the grounded structure as a bicycle/tool shed. I am looking forward to returning to the park in a few weeks, and will hopefully be able to conclude the tree house saga.I was painting today along Ship Creek looking at this old building. It reminded me of Duke Russels painting I saw at Snow City about five years ago and felt that it was an interesting dichotomy between nature and architecture. I was also hoping to see some fishermen hauling in some salmon, but alas they were getting skunked.I am also seeking out Commission work if you are in need of a great piece of art for your home or office, or even as a gift give me a holler 907.351.2522 I will ship to just about anywhere

Spent a wonderful weekend in the wilds of the Kenai. We enjoyed the river, the wine, the fine company, and had a great time camped out on the Anderson Fish Camp in Sterling, Alaska. This is a portrait of the Notorious Richard “Dicker” Anderson when he is driftin’ the river. The Kenai River is a bountiful, beautiful locale and it looked like the whole world had showed up to harvest the salmon. Combat fishing was in full effect. After drift boating the river we sampled a beautiful thing called The Bota Box wine. Which we poured into a carafe that we had gotten in Mexico. The sangria we made with blue-berries, strawberries and the old vine red was a magnificent experience! one to be remembered…dickerbig.jpgvinobig.jpg

Returned from Wrangell St. Elias National Park

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

hello all, I recently returned from my last trip to the Wrangell St. Elias National Park(McCarthy Side) and I grabbed my paintings from my last trip out there. I have a lot in the university heights subdivision on the Dan Creek road behind McCarthy.  I went up to the top of Bonanza peak three weeks ago with my buddy Seamus and my favorite exchange student(FES) Hanif. I dragged them up the mountain with me and it was a nine hour grueling ascent, after making these guys hang out  improving my lot out there.   I did these two paintings on the hike, the first is from the old mining transfer station for the tramway, and the second is from the ridge-line of Bonanza peak.  There was only one injury as Seamus was subjected to a sprained ankle… bumdilly.  As for the most recent trip I have another work to show you but will have to wait for a few days as I left it with Jim Drewry the parking lot attendant as a tip.  My buddy Mudhole Bailey took a pic of it and I will receive that photo tomorrow evening, so stay tuned to see it…  I painted today too, so look for a nice coastal trail piece looking at downtown Anchorage…

WOW off and running new blog with features!

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Well, I was learning about blogging yesterday and I realized I needed whoozits and whootinannies to make this cool.  So here it is(whoozits and whootinannies), and I am uploading a new pic from two days ago. It is very very small, and pretty weak.  Actually I am going to finish it right now as I went past the same place on the way to Soungs restourant Mtn View Wings a second time.  So I will touch it up now….. Okay well I worked it a bit more, it still kinda a poor painting but I attest that to the paint conditions, I need to mix a new pallette.  So I am hoping this will be a fun BLOG hoping to make it a PLOG  or a VLOG thats painting log or video log.  It should be pretty cool as I kinda like this blogging thing and I know that nobody is really going to read this entry… but anyhow hope you will follow the blog as it is going to be fun and updated all the time. stay tuned for more Paintings and maybe videos about painting Scott Clendaniel
